When I was growing up I was fascinated with anything that came in miniature form. I was the kid who took the tiny ketchup bottle and jam jars from room service home, and used the little white ‘tables’ that came in pizza boxes for my dolls table. I don’t know what it is- that it fits into the palm of my hand, or I can carry these tiny replicas of normal things with me in my pocket. Even now, seeing miniature things still makes me smile.
A good friend of mine has always loved things that are miniature as well- so it only made sense that her baby shower be thrown in miniature form. We used many different itsy bitsy, teeny tiny party supplies and food to celebrate this mom-to-be. This itsy bitsy miniature party would also work great for a first birthday, a little girl’s doll-themed party, or a tea party.
Tiny Decorations:: Decorations for this miniature themed party included tiny bunting (created using this tutorial), tiny blue balloons which were water balloons we picked up at Target (also found here), tiny 3mm pom poms used for confetti, and my personal favorite- tiny party hats from the new Oh Joy! collection at Target. The tiny bear was found at a local craft store, and this little banner was made using tape and a toothpick.
Tiny Party Food & Drink:: Party food consisted of finger sandwiches, pasta salad served in small bowls, lemonade in tiny mason jar mugs we found at a local craft store, mini muffins, and bite sized cookies, chocolates, and donuts (all the mom-to-be’s favorites!). To make tiny napkins and straws, simply cut about 1/4 the length off, and trim the napkins so they measure 2″x 2″.
Happy Planning,
